This programme includes:

  • Full board during the 6 day trek in a gîte d'étape (small Berber inn or guest house), refuge shelter or tent.
  • Breakfast in the Riad in Marrakech.
  • An English speaking Berber guide and cook and Mules for luggage.
  • Airport transfers and transfers to and from the start and finish of the trek.

The programme does not include:

  • International flights
  • Additional entrance fees: This depends on where you go, but the "average price" is £1.60 to £4.00 per person.
  • Additional Guide Services: The cost depends on what is required. For example, a guide in Marrakech averages approximately £26.00 GBP - £32.00 per day for a 7 hour day. Due to restrictions by the Moroccan Government, only those guides who live and work in the city visited are allowed to guide any clients and they set their own rates. We may be able to arrange for a guide on request, but it is the responsibility of the client to pay for the guide services themselves.
  • Lunches unless provided by ourselves (as on the Atlas Trek days).
  • Incidentals: such as soft drinks, wine or beer with meals, personal purchases, or tips.

All food is included on the trek. The food that you will eat is very healthy, including couscous, tajine, fresh eggs, fish, olives, nuts and fruit. Apart from fish (tuna and sardine) often served at lunch time with vegetable salad, there is not a lot of meat and when meat is available, separate dishes such as vegetarian tajine, can be prepared. Please let us know whether you are a vegetarian. Keep in mind that "vegetarian" means "no meat" and not a "vegan" menu.

Bottled water is not always available, so you will need to have your own method to purify water. Some treks allow for purchasing water along the way. Many people bring their own treats and food supplements if they have special dietary requirements. If you like to drink herbal teas, bring your own. Moroccan tea tends to be a real energy booster with Gunpowder green tea mixed with fresh mint, and copious amounts of sugar. Sugarless tea can be requested but not necessarily understood!
